Role of Advisory Group
The role of the Timor-Leste advisory group is to advise the Board on any actions that the VLGA can take to support Timor-Leste democracy and governance – especially Friendship Groups and the formation of local governments arising from decentralisation.

Providing information and advice to members councils and friendship groups
- Organising meetings and forums on topics of interest
- Assisting member councils and friendship groups to support their Timor-Leste partners during the transition to elected municipal government in Timor-Leste

Meeting Schedule
The meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of every second month at the VLGA between 5.00 and 6.30pm.

The VLGA Timor-Leste Working Group hosted a Forum on Wednesday 3 August 2011 at the VLGA Rear Meeting Rooms on
'International Development Assistance in Timor-Leste'. The guest speakers included:
