Workshops for women who are interested in standing for council in Geelong. In partnership with WILD and the VLGA

WILD Intensive Workshops for Women

Women in Local Democracy (WILD) in partnership with Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) is running information sessions to encourage women to stand for council.

The Women In Community – Women on Council workshops will include message/campaign development support, using networks, campaign audit and understanding preferences.The workshops will mix facilitated conversations, Q&A, small group tasks and presentations.


Council elections are fast approaching for the City of Greater Geelong. Thinking about standing? Why not?
Four workshops packed full of great info and inspiring stories from women leaders for any woman thinking of standing for election in the upcoming council elections for the City of Greater Geelong. Run by local women leaders from WILD (Women in Local Democracy) and the VLGA (Victorian Local Governance Association), these workshops will take you through the whole journey of campaigning, communication, and more.

Meet like-minded women and get inspired! Even if you decide not to run this time, these workshops could set you on the path for 2020 or other leadership roles in your community.
