About Bass Coast Shire

Less than two hours drive from Melbourne, Bass Coast is a unique combination of unspoiled coastline and picturesque rural hinterland. A popular holiday destination, our quaint rural villages, bustling holiday towns, rolling hills and world reknown surf breaks provide a breath taking getaway for over three million visitors each year.

Currently the second fastest growing area in regional Victoria, Bass Coast has a permanent population of approximately 28,000, although in peak season the population is almost triple that.

For more information about Bass Coast Shire, see http://www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/.

The VLGA looks forward to continuing to work closely with Bass Coast and all of its member councils to represent local government needs.
