Regional and Metropolitan Women’s Charter Forums in early 2011
On 9 December 2010, the WPILGC held a Think Tank that was attended by women officers, Councillors, WPILGC partners and interested women from the community. One of the outcomes was a decision to hold a number of forums in the first half of 2011 to progress consideration of gender equity initiatives by local governments.
The Women’s Charter Forums will enable sharing of information on local government gender equity initiatives; collection of data that reflects how local government as a sector is responding to the three principles of the Women’s Charter (gender equity, diversity, active citizenship); and build capacity and support for smaller shires by networking and connecting local governments. FORUM DATES WILL BE ADVISED.
