  • Professional Development Training
    Centre for Multicultural Youth 2008 Professional Development and Training Calendar. The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) delivers cross-cultural professional development and training programs for youth, community sectors and government bodies. CMY delivers training to direct staff, policy makers and management. The 2008 Professional Development Calendar sees the inclusion of a NEW three part training program for practitioners working with refugee and newly arrived young people. The three part training sessions aim to introduce key aspects of the refugee experience, how settlement impacts on young people and their families and progressively identify strategies for effective support targeted at refugee and newly arrived young people within a family context. Other training sessions incorporated in the years Professional Development Training Calendar include an ‘Introduction to working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) young people’ and a ‘Culturally Inclusive Service Planning and Delivery’ session designed for management or team leaders.

  • Women matter in local democracies Part 2 workshops 2008 New Item
    Womens Participation in Local Government Coalition partnership
    The WPILG Coalition is partnering with the Victorian Government's Community Support Fund and 10 Local Governments to offer workshops in the lead up to the November 2008 elections. Designed for women from recently arrived migrant communities, the workshops raise awareness and skills to increase their active local citizenship and civic participation.
