Hayden Raysmith was appointed Governance Patron of the VLGA in October 2006. As Patron, Hayden will take an active role in ensuring the Association remains true to its values and its purpose. In considering a Patron we sought someone who exemplifies the highest standards and aspirations for good governance and who will be recognised for their commitment and contribution to furthering democracy, transparency and accountability. Hayden has a long list achievements to his credit in the government, academic and community sectors, including:
Vital strategic and executive services to the VLGA, 1996-1999
Adjunct Professor at RMIT University
Has held key Victorian Government positions including Director of Youth Affairs and Director of Public Health
Former Executive Director of the Victorian Council of Social Service
Founding chairman of Melbourne Community Foundation
Member of Victorian Community Indicators Project Team
Published on a wide range of social policy issues including children’s services, health policy and community development.
