Background


 Information is a vital commodity for local governments and community groups. One of the VLGA's roles is to provide an effective voice for the local government sector in the media, and to encourage a constructive working relationship between media and local governments.
The VLGA is also active in the use of information technology as a tool for building and strengthening communities. We are exploring the potential of the Internet to allow a two-way flow of information, creating communication networks that are open to all rather than being controlled by a few.
