Local Government 101 - 10:30am - 12:00pm

What do councils do? What is the role of a councillor? How do I become a candidate and how do I get elected?

If you have ever asked yourself these questions, or if you need to know more before you take the leap and decide to run, this free and informative workshop is for you. Women across the state - just like you - have a significant contribution to make to public life. Your connections to community, your skills and your unique perspective mean you are rich with potential to be a great local councillor.

Candidate Development - 1:30pm - 3:00pm

Have you decided that you want to run (or support another woman to run), but don’t know where to start?

Now is the time to plan the next few months, get your campaign team together, and start campaigning in earnest.

Come along and learn some strategies for managing your campaign, planning for success and connecting and convincing voters.

This workshop will cover key considerations for candidates, including policy platforms, connecting with community and key skills and campaigning techniques.
