The Victorian Local Governance Association (VLGA) would like to congratulate its two newly elected board members, Cr Jane Karslake and Cr Mia Shaw. Both will commence their three-year term on the VLGA Board as of 1 July 2025.
Cr Jane Karslake is a second term councillor at Glen Eira City Council and Cr Mia Shaw is currently Mayor at the Wyndham City Council and is currently in her third term as a councillor.
The VLGA received 19 nominations for the two board positions available and would like to thank everyone who nominated.
Nominating demonstrates your commitment, not only to the local government sector but to the VLGA – the only peak body in Australia with a singular focus on supporting councillors and the people who work with them to change culture, improve conduct and demonstrate good local governance.
The VLGA would also like to thank outgoing board member and current President Cr Grace La Vella. Her contribution over the course of her term, which ends on June 30, has been outstanding.
We wish her all the best as she continues in her role as councillor and Mayor at Central Goldfields Shire Council.
.
The VLGA acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Victoria and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the Traditional Owners, their elders past, present and future, and to their cultures.
