50 per cent women by October 2020.
The VLGA actively works to increase women’s participation in local governments as citizens, candidates and councillors. The VLGA plays an integral role in training and equipping women considering becoming a candidate in local government elections.
The VLGA also represents the local government sector on the Victorian Ministerial Council on Women's Equality (through its Chief Executive Officer Kathryn Arndt) and the Local Government Ministerial Women's Roundtable.
